Hojin Jang is a Partner Foreign Attorney (Washington, D.C.) at Joowon Law Firm, where he advises domestic and international companies, public institutions, and technology-driven businesses on artificial intelligence, data, platform regulation, export controls and economic sanctions, international regulatory affairs, and emerging technology policy.
Drawing on his background in U.S. law, international law, and global regulatory policy, Mr. Jang provides practical legal and regulatory advice on AI product launches, generative AI deployment, data governance, global compliance, overseas regulatory strategy, government affairs, and policy risk management.
In the AI and emerging technology sectors, Mr. Jang advises clients on regulatory risk analysis, AI governance frameworks, internal policies, risk management, customer and investor due diligence readiness, and comparative analysis of AI regulations across major jurisdictions.
Mr. Jang also serves as Deputy Director of the AI & Emerging Technology Law and Policy Center at the Seoul International Law Academy. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Committee and International Law Committee, and is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. His prior experience includes serving as a Visiting Project Fellow at the Sejong Institute’s Center for Security Strategy, AI Policy Research Fellow at the Seoul International Law Academy, and Senior Consultant at Crown Labs. He also brings prior experience as a military officer and HR analyst at a major Korean conglomerate, enabling him to provide integrated advice across law, policy, business, and technology.
